Cathakis is another more experimental work from my early years a as a composer. A uni project tasked us with creating two contrasting continuous-static-textures, in which I decided to focus on voice as the main instrument. The first texture, rather unnervingly, ended up sounding like opening a door to a room full of people being hung by their skin. The second even more unnervingly sounded like opening the door to the deepest inferno of Hell. Final step in the experiment was to combine the two, adding and removing layers to create a sort of overall structure.

Like "Where It Ends" and "Darkest Abyss" before it, this work was not originally created with visuals in mind. That being said, after seeing the effect of adding the David Firth footage to "Darkest Abyss", I couldn't help myself and cut up footage from his work "Hell" (made collaboratively with Jimmy Mwng and Crust, http://www.fat-pie.com/clay.htm) to add a bit more depth to the whole piece.
